Trendy Tuesday (on Wednesday...):Menswear Inspired

2:11 PM

For Trendy Tuesday we have decided to talk about something that done right, can be amazing...but done wrong can be a hot mess...menswear
Menswear can be a tricky trend to tackle (say that 5 times fast-haha). You can see this trend about every season it seems like and it seems like it's not going anywhere anytime soon.  Although, I'm all about the flowy, girly frilly shirts and dresses, there is something to be said for an amazingly tailored jacket or pants.  Here are a few places that I have seen the trend...

The key to making this trend work is to incorporate some more "girly" details.  In both of the pictures they have styled their menswear with girly jewelry and shoes.

Some of my favorite ways to include this trend in my wardrobe is with tailored jackets and button up shirts.  Here are a few of my favorites from NY and Company. Which happens to be one of my favorite stores to buy these type of clothes.

As far as makeup, hair, or nails. it really doesn't matter. Whatever you feel comfortable in and looks good with what your wearing is perfect.  I am a huge fan of the top knot with this trend...here's a great tutorial on the top knot here.

The moral of the story is that it doesn't matter what you wear, as long as you rock it with some fab shoes and accessories you can make a boring old shirt look fantastic.  What are some of your favorite ways to wear this menswear inspired look?
